UNESCO Huaqiang Strategic Cooperation Center Was Found

A ceremony for the foundation of the “UNESCOHuaqiangStrategicCooperationCenter” was held inWuzhou Guest House on November 28th. Wang Jingsheng, Propaganda Minister of ShenzhenMunicipality and a member of the municipalCommunist Party Standing Committee, unveiled the nameplate of the centertogether with Chairman and President of Huaqiang Holdings Limited LiangGuangwei and Director and Vice President of Huaqiang Holdings Zhang Zhesheng.

Wang Jingshengexpressed warm congratulations on the occasion on behalf of the municipalgovernment and the municipal Communist Party Committee. “The cooperationbetween Shenzhen and UNESCO is deepening every day, and Shenzhen was awardedthe honorable titles of “City of Design” and “NationwideReadingModelCity”, which will helpboost the city’s influence and soft power,” said Wang. He further added thatcultural companies such as Huaqiang Holdings are grasping opportunities to strengthencooperation with UNESCO and set up high-end global exchange platforms, i.e. astrategic cooperation center which will guide the cultural companies to goglobal, and expressed his confidence in the above-mentioned center.

Liang Guangwei,Chairman and President of Huaqiang Holdings, also gave aspeech during the ceremony. “Since 2013, Huaqiang Holdings has been cooperatingwith UNESCO and has set up a special development fund,” he said. “To furtherpromote international cooperation, a “UNESCOHuaqiangStrategicCooperationCenter” was set up at theadvent of the International Conference on Digital Books and Future Technologies.”The purpose of the center is to preserve Chinese culture whilst deepeninginternational cultural exchanges, developing a think tank, coordinatingcooperation with governments, providing consulting services to governments andenterprises at home and abroad, holding relevant conferences, conducting policyresearch on relevant industries, and carrying out scientific and culturalprograms with the view of “setting eyes on the world while keeping a footholdin Shenzhen”.

On November 29th, an international bookconference with the theme of “digital books and future technologies” was heldin the Shenzhen Library by the UNESCO, Shenzhen Reading Month OrganizingCommittee, and Huaqiang Holdings, helping to boost the fields of education,science, and culture.
