Huaqiang Holdings Donated 50 Million Yuan to Shenzhen University for Building the "Shenzhen University and Huaqiang Holdings-China-Australian Voice Medical Research Center"

On December 30, the donation and signing ceremony of "Shenzhen University and Huaqiang Hodings--China-Australia Voice Medical Research Center" was held at Shenzhen University. Li Qingquan, Chairman of the Center Council, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Shenzhen University, Zhang Hengchun, Vice Chairman of the Center and Chairman of Huaqiang Holdings, and Fan Zhigang, Chairman of the Shenzhen University Foundation and Deputy Secretary of the School Party Committee, and other leaders attended the signing ceremony.

The establishment of "Shenzhen University and Huaqiang Holdings -China-Australia Voice Medical Research Center" not only provides a platform for service and research of high-quality medical voice clinical, but also provides opportunities for academic exchanges in the field of high-end medical voice healthcare at home and abroad. The center will take 5-10 years to build into a domestic first-class center for laryngeal disease research, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and health care as well as pathology education, and strive to become a leader in the field of voice healthcare in Shenzhen and even the country.

In order to promote exchanges and cooperation in the field of laryngology and voice medical research between Chinese and Australian universities, scientific research and medical institutions, the chairman of the board of directors of Huaqiang Holdings, Liang Guangwei, proposed that Huaqiang Holdings donated RMB 50 million to jointly build the "Shenzhen University and Huaqiang Holdings—China - Australian Voice Medical Research Center" with Shenzhen University, and to establish the comprehensive cooperation between Huaqiang Holdings and Shenzhen University in the field of medical and healthcare. The center will be supported and assisted by the Voice Research Laboratory at the School of Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine and Health of University of Sydney, with the Health Science Center of Shenzhen University as the hub, and the Department of Otolaryngology (ENT) at the Shenzhen University General Hospital and the First Affiliated Hospital as the main body. Sub-centers will be built separately in both hospitals.

Li Qingquan expressed his gratitude to Huaqiang Holdings for supporting the construction and development of Shenzhen University over the years. He pointed out that Huaqiang and Shenzhen University have taken root in Shenzhen, resonated at the same frequency and developed together. This signing signifies that the cooperation between Huaqiang Holdings and Shenzhen University has reached a new level. He said that Shenzhen University will rely on the development of medical and health services in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, fully support the construction of the voice center in terms of talent introduction, scientific research investment, etc., and develop it into a top medical research center in the field of voice in the country.

Zhang Hengchun pointed out that the establishment of the Voice Center provides strong support for the development of the integration of teaching, scientific research and clinical practice in this field. He suggested that the Voice Center make full use of Shenzhen’s broad vision as an international city, strengthen international cooperation, optimize and integrate government policies and social resources, achieve rapid development, and build it into a first-class domestic center for laryngeal disease research, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation as soon as possible.
